On Saturday November 14, 2015, our friends at HRRT Cycling Club and Team will holding their 3rd annual Capital District Bicycle Gala at the Edison Club in Rexford, NY. The Gala is to raise funds for the NICA NY High School MTB League and support overall cycling safety in the Capital District. In addition to the Gala, a Specialized Fat Boy Comp is being raffled for $25.00 per ticket or 5 tickets for $100.00. If you have wanted a fat bike, here’s your chance to win one and at the same time, support youth cycling in New York. Tickets for the Gala are $50.00/person and $100.00/couple.

EVERY attendee will go home with a frame for their car- reminding the motorist behind you of the life of a cyclist.

Fundraising Effort Redirected

All Proceeds to benefit equally the following missions

1/ NICA NY High School MTB league and Sponsorship of hosting a local race and team

2/ Missions to improve safety of local roads and trails to protect our cycling destinations and improve the quality of offering.

How will this be done?

1/ Share the Road Signs placed roadside- seasonally “May- September” in the areas of Albany, Schenectady, and Saratoga County and beyond. These signs will have a message and will be sponsored by the local cycling community.

2/ MTB Trailheads- Signage with maps placed at Central Park

3/ Repair Stands- installed on the bike path between Schenectady and Albany

4/ Advocacy- Sorting out plans locally to have a voice in the municipalities concerning bike lanes and missions.

The 2015 Gala will focus on keeping our community of cyclists safe and thriving. Youth is key to growing the sport, but also is protecting the safety and structure of what we have. Protecting our roads, bettering our trails and locations to ride.

Our cycling community rocks.

The passion for the bicycle is evident.

Riders help each other.

Parents are seeking bicycle opportunities for their kids.

People want to be involved.

Teams achieve more.

We can make our roads safer.
