Tymor Park Challenge

Lagrangeville, NY – The Highland to Hudson (H2H) MTB Race Series Tymor Park Challenge race was held this past Sunday. The race is put on by Eastern Sports Promotions, and as all other races that Tim promotes, this was a well organized race and a very challenging race course. A 6 mile loop with the first 3+ miles of superb single-track. Fast, technical, rolling terrain single-track with a couple of moderate climbs and fast single-track descents. After that, it was uphill from there…literally. After crossing a field, the next 1+ mile was climbing. And for me, a monster climb. With the conditions dry, it was definitely rideable, but for me, granny gear rideable. I’m sure I wasn’t the only one. The top of the climb brought us to more single-track. This time with a lot of exposed rocks and roots and more great single-track descents. Cat 2 rode two laps.
This was an awesome race course. After racing here last year in the mud, I swore that I wouldn’t go back. But I did, and I glad I did. Racing Cat 2 is very challenging for me, but the best way to get better is to race with better riders. My 17th place finish might be a bit discouraging, but I rode well and my finishing time of 1:43:30 was right in line with my goal of ~1:45:00.
